Awaken the Spirit of Christmas

As the seasons change from the heady heights of summer to the mystical intrigue of winter, when the sun lies low in the sky, the leaves scatter the floor, and the fog emerges, many of us can feel the cold set in. At the same time, there’s nothing quite as beautiful as a British autumn, and if you’ve ever watched the sunrise on a cold crisp morning, there’s no denying the sense of wonder it brings.

Before we know it, it will be Halloween, Fireworks and Christmas, where the beauty of the season really comes alive. This is epitomised at the Spirit of Christmas. It’s the celebration of this very magical time of year.

Celebrations around the 21st of December – the winter solstice, when the sun spends its shortest time in the sky – are part of our history. The Celts and Druids celebrated this event in Great Britain well before Christianity arrived on our shores. Christmas is the modern iteration of these celebrations, designed to lift the spirit, bring us together, and see the wonder of the world.

Chase Away the Winter Blues And Experience All the Fun of the Fair

Christmas – and its ancillary experiences – is the perfect antidote to the winter blues.

And it works. There aren’t many people whose spirits aren’t lifted by the fairs, shopping, food, drink, and of course, the day itself.

One of the best things about the festive period is just how long it lasts, from the shopping – that starts as early as October for many of us – to the month-long parties, Christmas fairs, and social gatherings of December. The trick is to participate as much as possible, wear those glittery jumpers, drink that sparkly wine, buy those baubles and cinnamon-scented candles, and join in!

This year, Lucinda Frances will be making the most of the opportunity to get into the swing of things and by exhibiting at The Spirit of Christmas Fair from the 4th to the 10th November 2019. Not only will we be showcasing our latest collection of luxury fashion (including our wonderfully festive Chinese brocade jackets and coats), we’ll also get to experience all the fun of the fair, at one of the UK’s largest Christmas fairs.

And you can too! It’s not too late to book tickets to the Spirit of Christmas Fair, where you’ll chill in the festive atmosphere and have the opportunity to enjoy a range of activities.

Highlights To Lift The Grinchiest of Spirits

So what sort of activities should you expect from this year’s Spirit of Christmas Fair?

The Shopping Markets

There are so many different facets of Christmas shopping. Whether you’re looking for baubles for the Christmas tree, wreaths for the front door, lights for the porch, decorations for the sitting room, you’ll find it all – and more – at the fair.

Perhaps you enjoy giving gifts at Christmas? At the fair, you'll discover opportunities galore to buy unique and inspiring gifts for everyone, from the modern and eclectic to the classic and traditional. And maybe a little less altruistically, you’ll find the high-end fashion stalls the perfect place to shop for your party outfits.

But Christmas is also about indulgence. If you need champagne, truffles, mince pies, and brandy butter, you're sure to find what you're looking for on the food stalls.

The Food Hall

In the Food Hall, you'll find an extensive collection of artisanal and traditional food offering a tantalising array of irresistible foods to take your taste buds on a journey from the lochs of the Scottish highlands to the fields of the Champagne regions in France.

Oak smoked Scottish salmon, handmade Cornish cheeses, chutneys, preserves, puddings, and caviar – it’s everything a foodie could wish for and more. Enjoy the delights on the day, create your own Christmas hamper, or do both. It’s all there waiting for you to experience.

Winter Workshops

If you fancy getting involved in the action directly, you can sign up to one of the winter workshops. This year’s workshops offer opportunities to learn about a huge range of Christmas-related topics, including how to build beautiful Christmas-foliage decorations, how to become a champagne connoisseur, tips and advice for throwing the ultimate Christmas party, the secrets of the perfect Christmas cocktail, and much, much, more.

As I’m sure you can now appreciate, the Spirit of Christmas Fair is a great opportunity for you to make the most of Christmas and firmly chase away those winter woes.

To celebrate the Spirit of Christmas, we’re giving visitors to our stand a 30% discount off our stunning Chinese Brocade jackets, in three distinctly colourful and ornate fabrics.

Find us on Stand L31 from 4th-10th November.

We hope to see you there!
